Terms of Service

You must be at least 13 years old to use BotanicBase. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account
• You must provide accurate information when setting up your profile
• You may not create accounts for others or impersonate another person
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised

You may only create one account per person. Duplicate or fraudulent accounts may be removed.

BotanicBase allows you to share photos and content with other users through the Community Garden feature.

You retain ownership of content you submit. By posting content, you grant BotanicBase a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display and distribute that content within the App.

You agree not to post content that:

• Violates any applicable law
• Infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
• Is abusive, harassing, threatening, or hateful
• Is sexually explicit or graphic
• Contains spam, advertisements, or malicious links
• Misrepresents plant care information in a way that could cause harm

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms without notice.

BotanicBase provides plant care information, tips, and guides for educational and informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy:

• We do not guarantee that all plant information is complete, current, or error-free
• Some plants are toxic to humans and animals. Always verify toxicity information from authoritative sources before handling plants around children or pets
• BotanicBase is not liable for any harm resulting from reliance on information provided in the App

The local plant shop finder uses your device location to surface nearby shops. Listings are provided for convenience and we do not endorse, verify, or have any affiliation with listed businesses. Shop availability, hours, and inventory are not guaranteed.

The plant quiz and leaderboard are for entertainment purposes. Scores are tied to your account and visible to other users. We reserve the right to reset, adjust, or remove leaderboard entries at our discretion, including in cases of abuse or cheating.

The first 100 users to create an account receive permanent Founder status displayed on their profile. This is a cosmetic recognition only and confers no special rights, privileges, or guarantees of any kind.

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or tamper with the App
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the App
• Interfere with other users' access to or enjoyment of the App
• Use automated tools (bots, scripts) to interact with the App
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of our systems

All App content not submitted by users — including the BotanicBase name, logo, design, plant database, and written content — is owned by BotanicBase and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute it without our written permission.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct we determine to be harmful to the App or its users. You may delete your account at any time through the App.

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Content you submitted to the Community Garden will be removed.

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BotanicBase shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the States of New York and New Jersey, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in New York or New Jersey.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the App or by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance.
